Nordi Mukiele’s contract with RB Leipzig expires in the summer of 2023. The club has now apparently decided how to proceed with the right-back.
Signs of farewell: According to the “Bild” newspaper, there have not yet been any talks about extending Nordi Mukiele’s contract with RB Leipzig. This is surprising, because RasenBallsport has already extended Kevin Kampl and Marcel Halstenberg (both contracts also expire in 2023). So everything at Mukiele speaks for a sale this summer or a free transfer in the next transfer window.
No backing: coach Domenico Tedesco would certainly not resist a departure. “Nordi is one of our players, we’re glad we have him,” said Tedesco soberly when asked about Mukiele’s future. That’s surprising, because the Leipzig coach had recently given the Frenchman a lot of playing time. But only for him “to put in the shop window”, as the “Bild” newspaper suspects.
Where are we going? A return to France could be an option for Mukiele. The rumor that Paris Saint-Germain is interested in the right-back has been circulating for weeks. Mukiele has a market value of 25 million euros.
