The novel The Birth of a Dynasty, the first part of the trilogy The warned by the author of Acadian origin Vanessa Léger, became the big winner on Friday of the National Fight for Books, 2022 edition, hosted by Marie-Louise Arsenault in as part of the program Plus on des fous, plus on lit!

This is the first time that the candidate from the Atlantic region has won the prize in this competition where five works from as many regions of Canada (Aboriginal territories, Atlantic, Quebec, Ontario, Western Canada) compete.

Each novel is defended by a fighter from the region where the work originated. In the case of L’aware: The Birth of a Dynasty, the novel was defended by Serge Brideau, singer of the group Les Hôtesse d’Hilaire.

The expert recounts the saga of an Acadian family, the Roussels, over several generations. They are witnesses to the great upheavals of history since 1870 and a symbol of Acadian victory and success.

Originally from Tracadie, Vanessa Léger has already published the first two volumes of her trilogy. The third volume is expected this summer.
