Laval police have arrested an individual possibly linked to the multiple shootings that rocked the city this week.

Two searches are currently underway in Laval and Terrebonne in connection with this arrest, reports the Laval Police Service (SPL) in a press release. The individual would have a link with the events of the last days and two vehicles were seized, we add.

On Tuesday, several projectiles were fired in the early afternoon in the middle of a residential area, a few meters from two girls who were playing.

This episode of violence has been added to the long list of events involving a firearm that have occurred in Greater Montreal in recent days, particularly in Laval.

A 28-year-old man is dead and five other people, including a 14-year-old boy, were injured following two incidents involving firearms in Montreal and Laval over the weekend.

On Monday, several shots were fired on Dumouchel Avenue, in the Chomedey sector of Laval, Monday afternoon. Despite a large number of people nearby, there were no injuries.

Anyone with information on these events can communicate, confidentially, on the Info Line at 450 662-INFO (4636) or dial 911.
