(Edmonton) Adrian Kempe scored his second goal of the game 1:12 into overtime as the Los Angeles Kings defeated the Edmonton Oilers 5-4 on Tuesday in Game 5 of the first-round series between the two teams.

Kempe took advantage of a turnover in the neutral zone, rounded defenseman Duncan Keith, then beat goaltender Mike Smith.

The Kings lead the series 3-2. They will have the opportunity to eliminate the Oilers on Thursday in Los Angeles.

The Oilers had however fought to erase a two-goal deficit in the third period. Leon Draisailt tied the game with 4:52 left in regulation time on a power play. It was his second goal at 2:35.

Phillip Danault, Andreas Athanasiou and Troy Stetcher also scored for the Kings. Jonathan Quick made 24 saves.

Connor McDavid had a goal and two assists, while Zack Kassian also scored for the Oilers. Smith stopped 38 shots.
