If you provide your body with good building materials, you will create a robust shell including a beautiful facade. If the input is inferior, our body will not be enthusiastic either. Here the plaster is peeling off the wall (our skin goes crazy and wrinkles), there the statics falter (protective posture due to pain) and too much superfluous mass puts a lot of pressure on the body, joints and sometimes on the soul.
While we are annoyed about being overweight, the insidious belly fat also produces pro-inflammatory messenger substances that spread quietly and secretly in our body like small nests of embers. We call it “Chronic Inflammation”. The treacherous thing: We don’t notice the small sparks at first, so they can spread further unnoticed. And not only when a few kilos too much check our statics.
If too many fire accelerants come together (belly fat, chronic stress, industrial nutrition), the flames spread wildly and spread to more and more regions of our bodies. Not only does pain show up, but also a whole bundle of diseases (arthrosis, arthritis, depressive moods, metabolic diseases or even cancer).
Now we’re paying attention. But even then, with all the smoke, we don’t see the many fires directly. So what can we do so that the blazing flames don’t completely ignite our body? Unfortunately, it’s going to be uncomfortable for a moment: In general, I would strongly advise you to let the pig out – albeit from your diet.

But don’t worry: you don’t have to abstain from everything in an absolute way, you simply have to reduce your consumption. And: We can reverse the gradual process that ultimately leads to out-of-control fires with special foods that are firefighters and health police in one. I serve you a selection of those that taste good and are healthy here:
They grow in the allotment garden on your own bush or on a neighbor’s and come fresh from the region in Germany: Blueberries protect us from chronic inflammation and are real vitamin bombs. Their beautiful blue skin is packed with antioxidants (anthocyanins) and these suffocate the air we breathe from “free radicals” that can damage our cells. Among other things, this leads to a reduction in pain in damaged joints.
Onions and garlic not only provide a rustic taste in our dishes. They also provide us with numerous minerals, protecting our cartilage, strengthening our joints and fighting osteoarthritis. Due to the particularly high content of silicon and sulfur compounds, chronic inflammation is eliminated and the articular cartilage is strengthened. Research was also carried out in England with the result that subjects who ate a lot of leeks and garlic had healthier hip joints and less cartilage damage.
And then there’s sesame, which strengthens our bones, inhibits osteoarthritis and relieves pain. Strong list, right? Sesame is a calcium hit, contains vitamin E and zinc, both of which are also natural anti-inflammatory agents, and scores with sesamin and sesamol. Once again I’ll tease you briefly with a study in which it was found that these two “plant hormones” reduce arthrosis pain in the joints thanks to their anti-inflammatory effect.
So enjoy your meal with these three real “superfoods”. And so that small embers don’t become fires, and our bodies are fireproof, there are a few more natural inflammation killers on top.
