A judicial investigation was opened at the end of March in Paris for “complicity in torture”, after the complaint of two Britons against the Emirati president of Interpol, General Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi, learned Agence France -Presse (AFP), Wednesday May 11, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) confirmed to AFP that it had entrusted a Parisian investigating judge with an investigation after a complaint with civil action, citing “torture” and “arbitrary detention” in 2018 and 2019.

The one who is also a senior Emirati police officer is already the subject of a preliminary investigation by the PNAT for other accusations of torture.
