Berlin’s Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey started her first trip abroad on Wednesday afternoon. The SPD politician is taking part in a meeting of the German-Polish “Oder-Partnership” network in Zielona Góra in Poland up to and including Thursday, as the Senate Chancellery announced on Wednesday.

Among other things, an exchange on the topic “Refugee crisis: challenges, approaches, good practices” is planned. From Thursday, Berlin will also assume the role of coordinator within the network and will accordingly organize the next meeting at this level.
