Telekom customers have been reporting more and more disruptions for some time. The fixed network and mobile Internet were apparently affected by failures. In the meantime, Telekom has fixed this again.
There were some disturbances at Telekom. As the portal “alle disturbances.de” shows, numerous users in Germany reported problems with the fixed network Internet and mobile surfing.
The user reports came from almost all over Germany. Apparently this was not a local problem. Cities affected included Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt.
In the meantime, Telekom has reported that the faults have been eliminated. Apparently this was a minor problem that was quickly fixed.
Telekom issued the following statement on the incident: “Due to a software change, prepaid customers in the mobile network could not make calls between 1:50 p.m. and 2:35 p.m. today and contract customers in the mobile network could not reach so-called premium hotlines. The error/malfunction was immediately recognized and rectified by our technicians. Landline customers and the Internet were NOT affected by the disruption. We apologize for the short-term inconvenience caused to the affected customers.”
